Alguns pilotos portugueses da época não se limitaram a marcar presença e deram uma réplica mais que adequada às "estrelas" que nos visitaram.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Na imagem, que documenta a partida para a prova, podem ver-se com o nº 18 Casimiro de Oliveira, em Ferrari 250 MM, tendo a seu lado o Lancia D23 &amp;nbsp;nº 25 de Piero Taruffi e o carro idêntico de Felice Bonetto, que viria a ser o vencedor . Mais atrás estão José Arroyo Nogueira Pinto, no Ferrari 250 MM nº 20, e o Jaguar C Type nº 26 de Stirling Moss, que terminaria em segundo lugar.&lt;br /&gt;Casimiro de Oliveira não terminou a corrida, mas Nogueira Pinto obteve um brilhante terceiro lugar ao volante do Ferrari 250 chassis 0330MM. Porém, às vezes levava longe demais o seu entusiasmo e o resultado era aquele que se vê nas imagens, obtidas após o acidente sofrido durante o Grande Prémio de Portugal de 1953. Aconteceu em 1956, durante o II Grande Prémio do Porto, prova que seria ganha pelo Marquês de Portago, com o qual Filipe Nogueira travou um duelo épico até acabar por bater no lancil de um passeio, o que provocou o desastre.
